Have you been experiencing anxiety but want to overcome your anxiety naturally?
Over 40 million adults in the United States experience anxiety, yet only a small percentage (around 37%) will be treated for it, so in today's post, I'd like to share some natural remedies you can implement to overcome your anxiety.
HOW TO CONQUER ANXIETY
Let's start with the basics, on how to actually overcome anxiety, and that begins with acknowledgment.
There is a tremendous movement we are seeing to remove the stigmas around mental illness and mental health. If you suffer from anxiety, YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
I personally have anxiety that appears in social situations, stressful life moments, and everything in between.
I used to think I was a super even-keeled person until I got sober and realized part of my story with drinking included numbing out that anxiety with alcohol.
Once I acknowledged that I, too, was someone with anxiety, I was able to learn more about it and how I could handle anxiety naturally, in ways that felt good for me.
Once you are able to have awareness around your anxiety, THEN you can begin implementing a strategy or plan to help conquer anxiety in ways that feel good and are best for you.
Let me reiterate that: there are a ton of options and treatments available to help handle your anxiety, but it is not a one size fits all...you must find what is best for you and your unique situation.
WAYS TO CONQUER ANXIETY NATURALLY
Once you've acknowledged you have anxiety, the next step is implementing a plan to conquer your anxiety.

In this section, I will share just a few simple and easy ways you can begin exploring solutions to help handle your anxiety, so let's get right into it:

MOVEMENT: in holistic healing, heavy and negative feelings like anxiety can get stuck in our energy pathways, causing illness and pain. When anxiety goes untreated and keeps you paralyzed, there's a good chance it's amassing somewhere in your body causing even more harm. To eliminate that stagnant and heavy feeling of anxiety, movement is an amazing option to begin releasing that anxiety and move it through and out of your body. A simple 15-minute walk around the block can clear the anxiety and have you feeling much lighter and free from anxiety.
TALK THERAPY: have you ever just needed to vent about a situation that frustrated you, feeling much better afterward? This is a powerful tool of talking out the anxious feelings with therapy, to get the anxious thoughts out of your mind and out into the Universe with someone on the receiving end who can give you amazing tools to cope and handle whatever is driving that anxiety. In short, getting the anxiety out of your mind (from those thoughts that keep racing around in your mind) and out into the world (through spoken words) is another form of releasing the anxiety out of your mind and body, freeing up your energy channels for your own well-being.
CREATIVE PROJECTS: if you've ever heard the story that goes along with some of the world's most breathtaking masterpieces, they were usually created in very heightened emotional states, giving the artist a place to translate and emote those heavy feelings into a work of art. Now you do NOT need to be an artist in order to use this remedy. In fact, it's not just limited to artwork when I say artist: you could draw, paint, sculpt, produce music, organize, write poetry or a book....anything that once again gives you that RELEASE OF EMOTION in a healthy outlet.
CBD: natural remedies in the form of herbal medicine can be super beneficial in conquering your anxiety naturally! CBD is well-known for its stress-relieving properties, and one of my top remedies for handling my own personal anxiety. CBD comes in MANY forms, so finding a product that works well for you and your needs is key. For me, I prefer to take it in tincture form, either under my tongue or added into smoothies or teas. I also enjoy the benefits of CBD in my bath tea recipes to help melt the stress and anxiety away in a calming bath.
JOURNALING: much like talk therapy, getting the anxious thoughts out of your head, to live anywhere but your mind, is a crucial tool for handling anxiety. Writing is another form of getting your anxious thoughts out of your mind and body and onto paper. This method is once again releasing the anxiety in written form, to live in a notebook and not in your mind. This simple yet super effective remedy can truly reduce your anxiety within a few minutes.
IMPLEMENTING NATURAL REMEDIES TO CONQUER ANXIETY
Once you decide on a remedy to help handle your anxiety, it's important to make a plan of action and to implement this new remedy on a regular basis.
Overcoming anxiety will be a constant work in progress, but if you decide on a remedy, it's equally as important to follow through and implement this remedy for at least a month or two, to see how effective it is with conquering your anxiety.
It's common to not find a remedy that works well for you and your situation right away, so if something doesn't feel right or that's it's not working, it's totally normal...and the good news is there are lots of other solutions you can try until you find one that works best for you!
Life is hard. Emotional well-being can be some of the toughest work you will tackle in your life, especially if you don't know how or where to start.
To overcome anxiety naturally, you must be able to acknowledge that it exists, decide on a remedy that you'd like to implement, and consistently take action with your elected solution, making assessments if it's a good fit after about a month. If you need to find another remedy that better suits your needs, then onto the next...
