What to Drink When You're Not Drinking Alcohol

For those of us who tend to get tripped up and stuck, living in the future and trying to figure out each step of the sober living journey BEFORE we actually take any action, welcome to the club. One area people always analyze before their sober-curious journey begins is “what will I drink if it's not alcohol, especially when I go out?”

So instead of alcohol, try these very simple ideas out....and don't forget to use the fancy glass: -water -club soda/ soda -cold-pressed juices -kombucha -coffee -tea -smoothies

-homemade mocktails

-hot cocoa

-hot water with a lemon

-iced tea

-lemonade

...and let’s not forget the growing number of non-alcoholic beverages that are hitting the market and making their way onto the menu as part of a growing trend with mocktails. I have a few recipes of my own that I shared in this blog post, that are super delicious and easy to make.


And with the holidays here, go ahead and get festive with your drinks- pour a splash of cranberry juice inside your club soda or ginger ale for that festive holiday red color. Ginger ale makes an almost identical swap to champagne, so yes, go ahead and drink your ginger ale out of the champagne flute. Peppermint tea? Sounds festive AF to me, and seconds are encouraged!

Here’s the thing: you don’t have to have it all figured out and you don't have to over-complicate things. Your current boozy self will find ANY reason to deter you from beginning this sober lifestyle, especially if you don’t have it “all mapped out”, so here's to having one more thing checked off the list!
